Every parcel that leaves a shop on The Kosher Shop must meet this standard. It protects your products, your reviews and your customer.
1. The box
- Use a new or as-new, rigid cardboard box. Double-wall for anything heavy, glass or liquid.
- Choose a box that leaves 5 to 6 cm of space on every side for protection, and no more. Too big means movement and higher shipping cost.
- No supermarket boxes with other brands’ logos, no boxes that are wet, crushed or taped over old labels.
- Padded envelopes are fine only for flat, unbreakable items (books, textiles, cards).
2. Protection inside
- Wrap every item separately. Fill all empty space so nothing moves when you shake the box gently.
- Use paper, cardboard inserts, corrugated wrap or recyclable air pillows. Avoid loose polystyrene chips.
- Liquids: close the cap tightly, seal it with tape and place the item in a sealed plastic bag.
- Keep the product’s original packaging and seals intact. For kosher food this matters twice: the kashrut seal must arrive unbroken.
3. Sealing
- Seal with strong packing tape in an H pattern: along the centre seam and across both edges, top and bottom.
- Do not use string, paper tape that peels, or wrapping paper on the outside.
4. The label
- One clear label on the largest flat side. Remove or cover all old labels and barcodes.
- Add a return address. Add “Fragile” or “This way up” only when it is true.
- For shipments abroad, attach the customs documents as your courier requires (see Shipping abroad).
5. What goes inside the box
- The order items, checked against the order: right product, right quantity, right variant, within date.
- A packing slip or invoice where the law requires it, and a short thank-you note if you wish.
- No flyers, discount codes or links for buying outside The Kosher Shop. Your own brand is welcome.
6. Before you close the box
- Check the order once more.
- Close and seal the box, and attach the label.
- Take the packing photo and upload it to the order.
- Hand the parcel to the courier and add the tracking number in your dashboard.
Customers see the packing photo on their order page, and we use it when we review a claim about damage or missing items. A clean, well-packed parcel protects you.
